The Dark Knight Rises and Agent Coulson

Gah! I have been dying to blog something other than our pattern releases but so far life hasn't let me. Next week hopefully I'll get to share some awesome posts. But in the meantime check out what we've put in our store!

This summer has been flippin' awesome for blockbuster films, and one that we can't wait to see is "The Dark Knight Rises." So to while away the hours until it comes to a theatre near us, Jesse has designed an 8-bit inspired cross stitch pattern featuring 4 characters from the film. We've got Commissioner Gordon, Batman (of course), Bane (so creepy) and Catwoman. I also love the two-tone text that gives it an epic-movie feel.

The other pattern we've put in our store is the second in our Bros/Pals series and I'm so happy with it. It's Nick Fury and Phil Coulson from this summer's "Avengers" movie. We've watched all of the Marvel movies and I just loved how they incorporated Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson in all of them. *sigh* I miss him already. But now we can stitch up this pattern and we'll always have him around!

That's about it for this week. Summer's are always busy, but here in Canada we've learned to appreciate them when we have them. Stay tuned for more posts next week including another pattern release next Wednesday.

Justice League and The Amazing Spiderman

I'm so excited about this week's patterns! As you may have noticed we're big fans of Marvel Comics over here, but this week we're releasing our first DC Comics pattern! The other pattern that's new in the shop is one Jesse has been working on while in eager expectation of the new Spider-man movie! Check them out!

This may be my favourite pattern yet! It's the Justice League and I'm loving it. I'm still trying to figure out which character is the coolest. Aquaman? Oh, but I love Superman too. Wait! The Flash! I just love it!

Done in our Chunky Stitch Hero style (4 times the size of our regular heroes), Jesse has done up a pattern for the new Spidey flick. We are so stoked to see it. I think Andrew Garfield is gonna rock that roll.

This week is gonna be another busy one so I'm not sure how many posts I'll get out. But next Wednesday we're putting another couple of goodies in the shop. Stay tuned for another pattern in the Bros/Pals series and another movie pattern too!

E.T. vs Hawkeye and Black Widow

Well tomorrow is our Weekly Wednesday pattern release and we'll be two awesome patterns. But today I just realized that I forgot to tell you guys about last Wednesday's patterns. (Summer is great but awfully busy.) So here's what we put in our shop last week.

The first is our "E.T. the Movie" pattern. This is the first in a long line of patterns that is going to be based on our top 100 movies. Until this year I had always been terrified of E.T. because the only time I had watched it when I was 4 years old and hallucinating because of Scarlet Fever. Fever + Kid + Alien Movie = Lifelong Phobia. But Jesse finally got me to watch it with him this spring and to much amazement...I loved it! And I love his pattern too.

The other pattern we put in the shop was the first in our pals/bros series. Jesse has done up a bunch of patterns of different Marvel dynamic duos and we'll be putting them out in the shop over the next little while. This one is Classic Hawkeye and Black Widow, done up in our Chunky Stitch Hero style.

What would you say your favorite Marvel duo is? I love Hawkeye's and Black Widows relationship but there are tons of other pals/bros out there too! Stay tuned to see more of our favourites!

WIP Day!

Today is as gloomy of a summer day as you can get. And even though I'm a huge fan of rainy days, somehow this overcast sky is killing any desire I may have had to do housework, (which was pretty small to begin with.) So I've decided it's Work-In-Progress Day! I'm the kind of person that rocks at starting projects, but unfortunately sucks at finishing them up. But today all of that changes! (Queue inspirational music.) So while I should be folding laundry and doing dishes, I'm actually watching "A Midsummer's Night Dream" and finishing up the newborn owl cap that I'm making for my soon-to-be-born nephew. And hopefully I'll be able to tackle the stuffed elephants I'm working on, and the quilt I'm sewing, and put the wings on my little robin, and maybe some cross stitching...I might need to avoid housework all week :)

A Couple WIPs and Tuesday the Wonder Dog
As you can see, unless I want the owl to be a zombie, I've still got the eyes and tassels to finish. (Though owls are cool and zombie are hip so put them together...) And the elephant needs ears, a body, some legs and pretty much everything else. But they're gonna look adorable when I'm done.

Stay tuned to see whether the baby gets the elephants for a shower present or a graduation one.

Fantastic Four vs Galactus Pattern

Today was an immense day of cooking and cleaning and helping feed 50 people! So our pattern release post will be a short one, as I'm just all tuckered out. This week's pattern is the Fantastic Four teaming up against Galactus and the Silver Surfer in an effort to save the world! It doesn't get much more epic than this.

Check in on Wednesday, because we'll be releasing another new pattern.

Avengers 2012 Cross Stitch Pattern

Well it's not Wednesday but we've released a pattern anyway, and I must say it's one of my faves! We saw the movie last month and it was the most fun we've had in a theatre in years. So Jesse came home and started working on an new-style Avengers pattern that complements our Classic Avengers pattern. It features six of the main characters and an adorable two-toned title. It's a quick and simple pattern that makes a great gift for that super-hero fan in your life.

Check in on Wednesday, because we'll still be releasing another new pattern.
